Comparative and Argumentative
Comparative and Argumentative
Have you ever heard of the
comparative and argumentative paragraph? Well, today I am going to tell you
what is the use, the parts to form them and how to distinguish one from the
other, these two types of paragraphs are very important because they help us to
express and understand these two different paragraphs much more clearly.
First I will talk about the
comparative paragraph which is used to present the differences and similarities
of an idea, thing, object or place, the same is useful for any type of topic we
want to do, the parts of this paragraph are: first, we put the Introduction of
the comparison criteria, then we put the First element in comparison, it is
important to use the Comparative logical connector because it will help us to
differentiate the comparative paragraph, this is the last part of a comparative
paragraph and it is the Second element in comparison which will help us to
understand the whole paragraph, to be able to recognize a comparative paragraph
we have to notice that it has categories or criteria which are fundamental to
compare and contrast the ideas, sometimes the comparative paragraph seeks to
strengthen the author's point of view and would be joining evidence so we can
be confident of any other considerations and now let's go to the argumentative
paragraph.
After having already spoken of the
comparative paragraph we will talk about the argumentative paragraph is the one
that helps us to unite several ideas and to create a single one which serves to
convince the reader of a point of view, there are really many ways to argue
which would be inductive and deductive these are the most known, the parts of
this type of paragraph are: Central idea of the paragraph is located at the
beginning of the paragraph, Secondary idea: argument of authority and finally
Secondary idea which is important to put an example that serves as evidence of
the arguments already said at the beginning or in the development of the
paragraph, how to realize that it is an argumentative paragraph simply we will
realize that its purpose is going to be to convince with valid and coherent
arguments.
Finally, we have talked about the
comparative paragraph is to present the differences and similarities of an
idea, thing, object or place and the argumentative paragraph serves to create a
concrete idea of a topic. Thank you very much for reading.
